Panko Crusted Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
A crunchy Panko breadcrumb crust will make your basic grilled cheese taste better. The outside of these sandwiches is crunchy, and the inside is gooey. They taste great.
Ingredients:
- 8 slices bread
- 8 slices cheddar cheese
- 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter for grilling
Instructions:
Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat
In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and pepper
Place Panko breadcrumbs in another shallow dish
Take each slice of bread and place a slice of cheddar cheese between them to form sandwiches
Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are coated
Then coat the sandwiches in the Panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere
Spread butter on the preheated skillet or griddle
Place the coated sandwiches onto the skillet or griddle and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side
Once both sides are crispy and the cheese is melted, remove from heat
Slice each sandwich diagonally and serve hot
